Incident Overview

A Wisconsin man is now facing several felony charges after allegedly shooting his brother in the back in a casino parking garage. The incident reportedly happened following a night filled with drinking and gambling.

Details of the Family Dispute

L.T., a resident of Appleton, was charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide with the use of a dangerous weapon, along with other charges including firearms violations, intoxicated endangerment, and resisting arrest. These charges were filed in Brown County Circuit Court.

The shooting took place shortly before 2 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, at the parking structure of Oneida Casino in Green Bay. The two brothers had spent the evening consuming alcohol and playing games at the casino. According to statements made to investigators, L.T. had consumed about 12 shots of tequila and two margaritas before tensions began to rise.

Court documents reveal that around 1 a.m., L.T. initiated a conversation about unresolved issues with his brother intending to provoke an argument. He invited his brother to the parking garage for what he claimed would be a private discussion. Once in the parking lot near L.T.’s car, prosecutors say L.T. drew a handgun from inside the vehicle and cocked it. The victim questioned L.T.’s intentions with the weapon but started to walk away before being shot in the back after just a few steps.

Casino surveillance footage reportedly showed L.T. standing over his injured brother holding the firearm before driving away from the scene. The victim later told police he feared for his life after the gun was allegedly pointed at his head following the shooting.

Emergency Response and Arrest

Emergency teams and casino security quickly found the injured man in the parking area and provided immediate medical assistance before transporting him to a local hospital. No updated information about his recovery has been shared publicly.

Brown County sheriff’s deputies spotted a vehicle matching the suspect’s car and attempted to pull it over. When L.T. did not stop, a brief high-risk pursuit and stop were conducted, leading to his arrest. Investigators recovered a handgun from the car and noted signs of intoxication in L.T., who refused to undergo a sobriety test.

Authorities confirmed that L.T. was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a previous felony conviction and an active domestic abuse restraining order.

A court commissioner set L.T.’s cash bond at $750,000. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
