Charlotte Emery Departs from Entain After Two Years
Entain has announced the departure of its Chief Marketing Officer, Charlotte Emery, after she spent two years in the role. The decision for her exit was reached mutually between Emery and the company. Entain is actively searching for a new CMO to fill the position.
During her tenure since June 2022, Emery played a pivotal role in advancing key collaborations, including a notable partnership between Entain’s Ladbrokes division and Liverpool DC. She was also instrumental in promoting marketing campaigns for Coral and Ladbrokes while helping to bring PHD onboard as Entain’s media buying agency partner.
Bejay Patel, the Managing Director for the UK and Ireland at Entain, praised Emery for her passionate and energetic contributions to the growth of Entain’s prominent UK brands, such as Coral, Foxy, Gala, and Ladbrokes. He extended his best wishes for her future ventures.
Before joining Entain, Emery worked as an independent marketing consultant for a year and a half and previously served four years in various marketing roles at gaming company Willing Hill.
With Emery’s departure, Entain is in the process of finding a suitable replacement and will provide updates as they become available.
Entain Announces Workforce Reduction of 500 Positions
Separately, Entain recently revealed plans to reduce its workforce by approximately 500 employees. This restructuring effort aims to create a leaner organization that is better positioned to generate value and meet upcoming challenges.
The workforce reduction initiative has been led by Michael Snape, Entain’s newly appointed Chief Financial Officer. Both Snape and Entain have denied that the layoffs are in response to the UK’s unfavorable tax policies.
Entain Supports Government Action Against Unlicensed Gambling Sponsorships
In addition to internal changes, Entain has expressed support for government measures in the UK designed to prohibit unlicensed gambling companies from entering sponsorship agreements with sports organizations. The company believes the government is aware of this issue and urges swift action to regulate sponsorship deals and uphold industry standards.
