Brightstar Announces Key Leadership Changes in Global Lottery Division

Leadership Transition at Brightstar Lottery
Brightstar Lottery has recently revealed significant changes within its top management team. The company announced the departure of the CEO for its Global Lottery division and the appointment of a new Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the same division.
Departure of Renato Ascoli and Promotion of Marco Tasso
Renato Ascoli, who has served as the chief executive officer of Brightstar’s Global Lottery division, will step down effective June 30, 2026. Ascoli’s exit marks the conclusion of a distinguished 20-year tenure, during which he held multiple senior leadership roles within the company.
Simultaneously, Marco Tasso, currently leading the International and Italy Operations segment as CEO, will be promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Global Lottery division starting July 1, 2026. Tasso’s extensive experience, spanning over two decades in both business-to-consumer and business-to-business roles, makes him well-suited for this leadership position.
Marco Tasso’s Professional Background and New Responsibilities
Throughout his career, Marco Tasso has worked with various notable gaming organizations, including Northstar Lottery Group and Lottomatica. He is also familiar with Brightstar’s heritage, having held senior roles at its predecessor company, IGT.
In his new role as EVP and COO of Global Lottery, Tasso will oversee all global lottery operations for Brightstar. His responsibilities will extend to areas such as technology, product development, marketing, sales, product management, supply chain, customer support, and field services.
Tasso will report directly to Vince Sadusky, the chief executive officer of Brightstar Lottery, as part of these organizational adjustments.
These leadership changes are part of Brightstar’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations and drive growth across its business segments.
Appreciation for Renato Ascoli and Welcome to Marco Tasso
Marco Sala, Brightstar’s executive chair, expressed gratitude towards Renato Ascoli for his significant contributions to the company’s product development, technological infrastructure, and commercial strategy. Sala acknowledged Ascoli’s role in fostering innovation and company growth during his tenure.
Vince Sadusky, Brightstar’s CEO, also extended thanks to Ascoli for his dedication and many years of service. He warmly welcomed Marco Tasso to the executive team, highlighting that Tasso’s expertise aligns with the company’s strategic vision and objectives.
Sadusky emphasized that strengthening the focus on growth, transformation, and operational performance will be key priorities, and Tasso’s insights will be instrumental in optimizing the lottery division for success.
