Samirah Mungin, whose mother Camillia Williams was involved, recounted that the conflict began when Williams approached the front desk to report issues with accessing their room. Although originally a complaint about malfunctioning key cards, casino security reported that Williams became uncooperative. Police were subsequently called, and upon their arrival, they identified an outstanding warrant linked to Williams, resulting in her brief detention without complications.
Second Confrontation Escalates Tensions on Casino Floor
Later that same evening, Williams and her daughter returned to the hotel to retrieve belongings and locate a family member. Encountering the same security staff again aggravated the situation. Mungin captured a video showing Williams surrounded by several uniformed personnel near an elevator. Voices in the background urged calm, but the tension escalated when Williams was pulled to the ground as she attempted to walk away, sparking her daughter’s pleas to stop the use of force.
Investigation Continues Amid Public Outcry
Williams reportedly suffered injuries that made walking difficult after the confrontation. In response to the video’s circulation, Hard Rock stated that it had reviewed the footage and promptly suspended the employees involved pending a full investigation. Emphasizing guest safety as a priority, the casino confirmed it had reached out to the family affected.
The Atlantic City Police Department is also involved, though authorities have not yet indicated if any charges will arise from the second encounter. The incident has attracted widespread attention, with many calling for enhanced accountability for security personnel. Mungin has set up a fundraiser to help cover her mother’s medical and legal costs.
