BetMGM’s Chief Marketing Officer Casey Hurbis Departs After Impactful Tenure

Casey Hurbis Steps Down as BetMGM’s Chief Marketing Officer
BetMGM has announced that Casey Hurbis is leaving his position as chief marketing officer after a little more than a year with the company. Reflecting on his time at BetMGM, Hurbis described this period as a “high-velocity chapter” that brought significant accomplishments and progress.
Driving Innovation and Brand Differentiation
Hurbis joined BetMGM’s parent company, MGM, in December 2024. In his role as CMO, he applied his extensive marketing expertise to distinguish BetMGM from other players in the competitive gambling industry. Among his notable initiatives was the introduction of the “Make It Legendary” campaign in the fall, which featured actor Jon Hamm as the face of the brand. This campaign, crafted by the production company Highdive, helped redefine BetMGM’s brand identity.
During his tenure, Hurbis also recruited several former athletes to serve as brand ambassadors, enhancing BetMGM’s market visibility and appeal.
Professional Background and Board Roles
Before joining BetMGM, Hurbis held a similar marketing leader role at Rocket Mortgage. He also contributed as a marketing committee member for the 2024 NFL Draft. Prior to these roles, he worked for FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in various capacities and spent 17 years at the advertising agency BBDO. Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Hurbis is active as a board member for several well-known organizations, including Nano Magic, Adweek, Adcraft Detroit, Google, and Brand Innovators.
Reflections on a Productive Yet Brief Tenure
Speaking about his departure, Hurbis highlighted that although his time at BetMGM was relatively short, it was tremendously productive. He emphasized that the team didn’t just make progress—they celebrated BetMGM’s best year to date and reshaped the brand’s strategic approach.
Some of the key achievements under his leadership included transforming the company’s customer relationship management (CRM) systems and integrating advanced artificial intelligence technologies. Hurbis also praised the “Make It Legendary” campaign as a successful example of the power of innovative and bold marketing visions.
As of now, BetMGM has not yet announced who will replace Hurbis as chief marketing officer.

In separate news, BetMGM recently discontinued credit card payment options for its sports betting and online casino services. Effective March 31, the company no longer accepts credit card transactions.
