A second person who was injured when a car backed into a crowd at a Parma Heights concert in August has died.

Parma Heights police said Tuesday that 68-year-old Nancy Gielas had died.

Another woman, 61-year-old Kathleen McDonald of Parma, died days after the crash.

Nine people were injured on Aug. 21 when a 74-year-old woman who was leaving a community concert for senior citizens accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake as she was pulling out of her parking space.

Police said she then drove onto a small dance floor in the parking lot at the concert and crashed into a crowd. The woman then backed up into a minivan.

Parma Heights police Det. Sgt. Steve Scharschmidt said earlier this month charges are possible for the woman who was driving. Her identity has not been released.

"It's unfortunate," he said, "but she is responsible for all of this damage."
