Overview of Q4 Financial Results

Australian casino and hospitality company The Star Entertainment Group has released its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter ending June 30, 2026. The report highlights a slight improvement in EBITDA losses and revenues that remained stable compared to the previous quarter.

Reduction in EBITDA Losses

For Q4, The Star Entertainment Group reported revenues of approximately AUD 265 million (around USD 185.3 million), which is largely consistent with the prior quarter’s figures. The EBITDA loss notably decreased to AUD 8 million (about USD 5.6 million), representing a 70% improvement compared to the same quarter last year, when the EBITDA loss was AUD 27 million (approximately USD 18.9 million).

This positive change is attributed to various cost-saving strategies implemented by the company, stable trading performance at The Star Sydney, increased activity on the Gold Coast, and reduced operator fees at The Star Brisbane.

Additionally, the company marked the completion of the initial phase of its exit from the DBC, following a binding agreement signed with its joint venture partners in August 2025.

On May 7, The Star secured refinancing through a AUD 390 million secured term loan due in May 2029, provided by WhiteHawk Capital Partners. Post-refinancing, the company reported available liquidity at AUD 130 million (approximately USD 90.1 million). By June 30, 2026, cash reserves stood at AUD 267 million (about USD 186.7 million).

Ongoing Financial Challenges and Uncertainties

The Star acknowledged that the improvements seen in the fourth quarter were largely due to the efforts of its new leadership team and continued cost reduction measures. The company indicated that further cost-saving options and supplier expense reductions are being actively considered to strengthen its financial health.

However, the company also highlighted that its future viability depends on resolving several significant uncertainties, some beyond its control.

Furthermore, The Star emphasized that there are multiple factors that could affect its financial outcomes, and there is no guarantee these will be clarified when its audited financial statements for the fiscal year are released.
