Rank Group Anticipates Record Revenue and Profit Growth

Rank Group is on track to achieve record-breaking revenue for the financial year 2026, fueled by notable expansion in its Digital division and Grosvenor venues. The company projects that its underlying operating profit will exceed $101 million, surpassing analyst expectations by more than 11%.

Grosvenor Venues Drive Consistent Growth

According to the latest trading update, Grosvenor venues recorded a 3% increase in like-for-like net gaming revenue (NGR) during the fourth quarter, which ended on June 30, 2026. This growth continues the positive trend seen in previous quarters, marking sustained progress for Rank Group throughout the year.

One of the most impressive areas was gaming machine performance, which showed a 12% rise in NGR in Q4. This success stems from optimization efforts and the expansion of the gaming machine estate by 850 terminals in the first half of the year, highlighting an ongoing avenue for growth.

Robust Performance in the Digital Business Despite Regulatory Challenges

Rank’s Digital business also posted strong results, with a 12% increase in net gaming revenue in Q4, including 12% growth on a like-for-like basis in the UK. These gains were achieved even while managing the financial impact of the UK Government’s Autumn Budget, which raised the Remote Gaming Duty (RGD) to 40% starting April 1, 2026. This tax increase has been a point of contention within the gambling industry.

Despite these pressures, Rank successfully prioritized investments in performance marketing and customer incentives to sustain revenue growth and maintain solid profitability. This approach was complemented by cost-saving measures such as reductions in above-the-line marketing expenditure, supplier costs, and workforce numbers.

CEO Highlights Strategic Progress and Commitment to Growth

Richard Harris, recently appointed CEO of Rank Group, emphasized that the anticipated profit results demonstrate the company’s effective execution of its growth strategy despite encountering significant cost and tax challenges. Harris noted that Rank has taken proactive steps to lessen the impact of the increased RGD while safeguarding its digital revenues and enhancing performance in its physical venues.

He highlighted the strong performance of the UK Digital business since the tax rise and confirmed that growth initiatives in Grosvenor venues, especially around gaming machine optimization, continue to progress well.

Harris also addressed previous regulatory compliance issues, explaining that Rank has cooperated fully with the UK’s Gambling Commission and has taken extensive remedial actions. The company is awaiting formal confirmation from the regulator regarding these measures.

Looking ahead, Harris reiterated Rank’s goal to achieve an operating profit of at least GBP 100 million (approximately $134 million) over the medium term, alongside refining the company’s long-term strategy to maximize shareholder value.
