Disappearance at Harrah’s Casino
Authorities in Southern California are actively searching for Angelica Brophy, a 44-year-old emergency room nurse and mother of two, who went missing after visiting Harrah’s Casino in Valley Center, northeast of San Diego. She was last seen at the casino on the afternoon of July 6, 2026.
Last Known Movements and Discovery of Belongings
Surveillance footage shows Brophy leaving the casino alone around 3:40 pm. Earlier that day, she had dropped off her 12-year-old daughter at summer camp and was expected to pick her up later in the evening. When she failed to return home, her family reported her missing. Brophy was known to be a frequent visitor to Harrah’s and enjoyed gambling during her free time.
Three days after her disappearance, her gray Hyundai was discovered parked at Palomar Mountain State Park, approximately 30 minutes from the casino. The vehicle had entered the park around 4:20 pm on the day she was last seen. Inside the car, her cellphone—switched off—along with her purse and other personal items were found. The vehicle was located about 50 yards from a nearby pond; divers searched the water but found no sign of her.
Search Efforts and Investigation
Search and rescue teams have deployed K-9 units, drones, and ground crews throughout Palomar Mountain State Park and surrounding areas. So far, investigators have found no indication of foul play. Brophy’s friends and family shared that she was familiar with the park and frequently visited it for hiking.
Authorities are also collaborating with Caesars Entertainment to review Brophy’s gaming activity, as she was a member of the Caesars Rewards program. However, no details about any significant wins or activity during her casino visit have been released at this time.
Community Support and Ongoing Search
In San Marcos, loved ones held a candlelight vigil to pray for Brophy’s safe return. Her husband, children, and community members gathered to show their support. Local law enforcement encourages anyone with information about Angelica Brophy’s whereabouts to come forward.

Earlier this month, authorities have also been investigating the disappearance of a 26-year-old Australian tourist who went missing in Las Vegas around June 21. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department continues its investigation into that case.
