Woman arrested, charged with murder during investigation into death of John Whitfield in Lorain

Lorain police identified and arrested a suspect during an investigation into the death of John Whitfield. 

Authorities said Michele Noble, 46, of Lorain, was taken into custody on Aug. 2 and was charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and obstructing official business. 

Noble was taken to the Lorain County Jail. 

The Lorain County Coroner's office has yet to release an official cause for Whitfield's death.

Police were called to a home in the 800 block of West 23rd Street around 10 a.m. on Tuesday for a report of a "man down."

When officers arrived they found 53-year-old Whitfield dead inside.

This is an ongoing investigation.
