Lorain police are investigating their third homicide in less than a month in the city.
Police were called to a home in the 800 block of West 23rd Street around 10 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a "man down."
When officers arrived they found 53-year-old John Whitfield dead inside.
Police are investigating his death as a homicide.
There is no information about suspects at this time.
Last month, a 16-year-old turned himself in for the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old Elyria man in Lorain.
Just days later, 66-year-old Lani Smith was killed on West 9th Street.
