The FBI has expanded their search for the man who they believe kidnapped a sleeping child from her Cleveland home in May.

The 6-year-old was kidnapped from her West 104th street home and taken to a house where police said she was held hostage in a bedroom for 17 hours before being dropped off in a neighborhood near her home.

The FBI has linked the suspect in the Cleveland case to the attempted abduction of a 10-year-old Elyria girl three months earlier.

Now, newsnet5.com has learned the Cleveland FBI has expanded their search for the man who they believe is dangerous to other cities in Ohio and surrounding states.

"There is absolutely an urgency to find this guy," said Special Agent Donna Sullivan.

The man caught was caught on camera in the West 104th neighborhood prior to the kidnapping. The suspect was also recorded driving a 2002 or 2003 Chevy Malibu with a different color front panel in May. The images are being pushed on social media in an attempt to reach as many people as possible.

Images and information about the case have been sent to Toledo, Detroit, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and Buffalo in hopes of identifying the man before he targets another child.

"I would say he is familiar with the area but may not live here any longer," said  Sullivan.

Sullivan said in both of these cases the man is a stranger to the two families and that is rare. "It is usually a family member or someone the family knows, that is not the case here," explained Sullivan.

There is a $20,000 dollar reward for information in connection to this case. Call the FBI at 216-522-1400 with information.
