xQc Considering Twitch Comeback While Navigating Gambling Promotions

xQc’s Potential Return to Twitch
Félix Lengyel, better known by his online alias xQc, has recently hinted at the possibility of making a comeback to the Twitch streaming platform. Despite this, he plans to maintain his partnerships with well-known gambling companies, with a particular focus on Stake.
How Twitch’s Gambling Policies Affect Streamers
Twitch’s current regulations bar streamers from using direct affiliate links or overt gambling advertisements. However, xQc has suggested that streaming with subtle promotional banners in the background, without actively encouraging viewers to engage, might comply with these rules. This approach could potentially allow him to resume streaming on Twitch while adhering to the platform’s policies.
His strategy is inspired by other streamers and professional esports players who have implemented similar background branding to advertise gambling websites, some of which operate outside U.S. licensing.
Currently, xQc plans to add such a banner to his streams to test whether Twitch would see it as a violation of their gambling guidelines. He first revealed this plan several months ago.
xQc’s Strategic Pause and Move to Alternative Platforms
After Twitch updated its gambling policies, xQc was quick to exit the platform, criticizing the new rules for being overly restrictive and limiting viewers’ ability to access their preferred content.
As a result, he shifted to Kick, a streaming platform with more relaxed policies concerning gambling content. Kick offers tools that allow users to customize their viewing experience by filtering out content, including gambling, that they prefer not to see.
