Wynn Resorts Launches $2 Million Scholarship Fund to Support Employees’ Children

Wynn Resorts Establishes Significant Scholarship Fund
Wynn Resorts, a leading hospitality and land-based casino company in North America, has announced the creation of the Craig S. Billings Endowed Scholarship. Valued at $2 million, this scholarship is designed to assist children of Wynn’s North American employees in pursuing higher education.
Supporting Education for Employees’ Families
This scholarship targets eligible employees and their children who plan to earn undergraduate degrees at notable institutions affiliated with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). These include the Lee Business School, the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering, and the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality.
Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings expressed his pride in supporting the families of his dedicated workforce. He emphasized the importance of helping employees’ children achieve their educational goals, reflecting the aspirations shared by many parents.
Meaningful Partnerships and Personal Connection
Billings, himself a UNLV graduate, highlighted that the partnership with UNLV was intentional, as the university played a vital role in preparing him for a successful career in the hospitality and gaming industry. The collaboration symbolizes a commitment to fostering talent and giving back to the community.
Chris Heavey, President of UNLV, welcomed the initiative, noting that the scholarship removes significant financial barriers for the children of Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Boston Harbor employees. He emphasized that such support enables students to fully engage in their studies and achieve degrees that can shape their future careers.
Addressing Financial Challenges in Higher Education
While a large percentage of UNLV undergraduates already receive financial aid, many still face obstacles due to costs. This scholarship fund directly addresses that challenge, offering recipients the opportunity to complete up to 140 undergraduate credit hours with assistance through graduation.
Interim Executive Vice President of the UNLV Foundation, Tiffany Vickers, praised the scholarship and noted that Wynn Resorts, along with Craig Billings, have been longtime advocates for educational initiatives and university support.
