Overview of the Incident

A woman named Regina Valenzuela in Las Vegas was taken into custody on Monday, September 29, at the Clark County Detention Center. She is accused of stealing over $113,000 from an armored vehicle while working for the security company responsible for transporting funds to local casinos.

Details of the Theft

The missing funds, intended for various casinos, never reached their intended destinations. The security firm Sectran Security reports that Valenzuela allegedly took at least $112,532 during a transportation run involving two Dotty Casino locations on May 31, 2025. Following the discovery, Valenzuela was dismissed from her position.

Timeline and Evidence

On the morning of May 31, 2025, Valenzuela began her shift at 6:30 AM and returned the armored vehicle to the company’s headquarters at 8:30 AM. She left the premises without informing anyone. She later cited a family emergency as the reason for her early departure. When the end-of-day cash inventory was conducted, two bags containing $88,352 and $24,180 were found to be missing.

Security camera footage captured Valenzuela carrying two company bags at a gas station and placing them in a sedan, which is believed to be her vehicle. Upon returning to work the following day on June 1, 2025, she was confronted with the missing cash and subsequently terminated.

Alleged Statements and Investigation Status

Valenzuela denied any wrongdoing and maintained that her sudden absence was due to personal reasons. However, police received an anonymous tip alleging she boasted about the theft to a friend. Despite this, investigators have not been able to locate the stolen money, as there has been no significant activity in her bank accounts since the incident. The surveillance videos will be a critical part of the upcoming hearing, where Valenzuela must account for her behavior.

Next Steps

Valenzuela was released from custody on Tuesday, September 30, but she is scheduled to appear at a custody hearing on October 30, 2025, where the case will be further examined.
