Introduction to Sportradar’s UAE Authorization

Sportradar, a leading provider of sports data technology, has gained official approval to operate within the newly established commercial gaming framework of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This approval positions Sportradar as a significant player within the region’s evolving gaming sector.

License Approval by the UAE Gaming Authority

The license was granted by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), an independent body under the UAE Federal Government responsible for overseeing all commercial gaming activities in the country. Effective immediately, this license allows Sportradar to provide its products and services to authorized gaming operators across the UAE.

Leveraging over two decades of industry expertise, Sportradar aims to deliver its advanced sports technology solutions to support local operators and clients. Its offerings include AI-driven data analytics and sophisticated integrity systems designed to detect and prevent match-fixing in sports.

Sportradar joins a growing roster of approved suppliers within the UAE, such as Aristocrat, Light & Wonder, Novomatic, IGT, and others, each authorized to collaborate with licensed operators under the country’s regulatory framework.

Currently, Wynn Al Marjan holds the exclusive license for land-based gaming facilities, while The Game operates as the sole licensed lottery provider in the UAE.

Significance of the Approval for Sportradar’s Expansion

The approval reflects the UAE’s commitment to advancing its regulatory framework by welcoming established international service providers into its market. For Sportradar, this license extends its global footprint and reinforces its presence in a key region.

Headquartered in Switzerland, Sportradar has demonstrated impressive growth in recent years, including a notable 17% increase in first-quarter revenue in 2025 and sustained double-digit growth in subsequent months. This momentum is supported by strategic agreements with prominent sports organizations like UEFA and the NBA, enabling Sportradar to offer cutting-edge data intelligence, integrity monitoring, and betting solutions.

Continuing its growth trajectory in 2025, Sportradar has also agreed to acquire IMG Arena from Endeavour Holdings for $125 million, a deal recently cleared by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority after a thorough review process.
