According to Trainwreck, Twitch’s policies have encouraged intrusive affiliate marketing practices. He described the widespread use of affiliate codes as one of the most unscrupulous methods for streamers to generate income through gambling content.
Negative Effects on Viewers and Streamers
Trainwreck argued that removing certain gambling platforms like Stake has exacerbated problems on Twitch. He highlighted issues such as inflated viewer counts and the use of bots, along with aggressive and misleading tactics used by some streamers.
Financial and Industry Struggles
At one point, Trainwreck had tensions with platforms Stake and Kick, even suggesting that influencers might leave the scene due to these complications. He claimed to have missed out on billions of dollars in potential earnings because he chose not to engage in affiliate promotions.
