Tarek El Moussa’s Battery Charge Dropped After Las Vegas Incident

Tarek El Moussa, known for co-hosting HGTV’s “Flip or Flop,” was facing a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from an incident at a Las Vegas casino in June. However, on August 5, a judge in Las Vegas dismissed the charge against him.

Legal Outcome and Case Closure

According to court records obtained from the Justice Court of Las Vegas Township, El Moussa, 43, completed the required counseling and maintained a clean record after the incident. These actions contributed to the closure of the case, as documented in the official judgment dated August 5.

Although neither El Moussa nor his wife Heather publicly addressed the encounter, they later shared glimpses of their Las Vegas trip via a joint video on social media. The footage showed the couple enjoying time with their family, including El Moussa’s father, who appears in several clips. It appears that an issue involving his father played a role in what led to the altercation.

Details of the Casino Incident

The charge arose from a physical dispute that took place inside the casino located at the Palazzo Hotel. The confrontation began when another patron accidentally bumped into the chair where El Moussa’s father was sitting during a roulette game. Feeling slighted, El Moussa’s father looked at the man but continued playing.

The man then placed a hand on El Moussa’s father’s shoulder and said something to him, prompting El Moussa, who was nearby, to intervene. Witnesses reported that El Moussa pushed the man, leading both parties to adopt fighting postures. The man tried to subdue El Moussa, who allegedly responded by kneeing him, causing the man to fall to the floor. El Moussa then struck the man multiple times in the head before leaving the scene.

The person who was struck suffered bruising around his right eye and a cut on his nose but refused medical treatment at the location. El Moussa explained to authorities that his actions were in defense of his father, who suffers from back issues.
