Spribe Resumes UK Operations After License Suspension

Spribe, a well-known developer of gaming content, can now continue offering its popular Aviator game in the UK following the removal of a temporary suspension on its remote operating license by the UK regulatory authority. This suspension was originally enforced due to certain hosting violations.

Reason Behind the License Suspension

This suspension occurred because Spribe did not comply with the UK Gambling Commission’s (UKGC) hosting rules, which are part of the official licensing requirements. Specifically, the company had been hosting gaming content on its own servers and providing access to its clients’ customers without possessing the required hosting license.

Hosting in this context means the indirect delivery of gaming content through servers controlled by the provider rather than directly by the gambling operators themselves. Since Spribe lacked the authorization for this kind of hosting service, the UKGC had to temporarily revoke their license as of October 30, 2025.

License Reinstatement and Company Response

In response to the suspension, Spribe acknowledged the issue, attributing it to their technical setup. The company committed to rectifying the situation by obtaining the proper hosting license to fully comply with UK regulations. Fortunately, this matter has now been resolved, as confirmed by the UKGC’s recent announcement lifting the suspension on March 30, 2026, thereby allowing Spribe to legally provide gambling software services once again.

Spribe’s Regulatory Challenges in Sweden

Besides facing scrutiny in the UK, Spribe also encountered regulatory action in Sweden. The Swedish Gambling Authority found that Spribe’s games were accessible through unlicensed platforms, which is against Swedish law that requires licensed providers to offer their content only through authorized operators.

Although this constituted a violation of Swedish gambling regulations, Spribe received only a minor penalty of $544 due to their cooperation with the Swedish authorities.
