Resorts World Whistleblower Files Suit Against Hollywood Executive Over Payment Dispute

Background of the Legal Dispute
Robert James Cipriani, known for his numerous legal actions involving Resorts World Las Vegas, has now brought a lawsuit against Jeff Shell, the president of Paramount Skydance. Cipriani claims that Shell failed to compensate him for 18 months of services provided under their agreement.
Details of the Allegations
This case was filed on March 9 in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. According to the complaint, Cipriani and Shell had reached an agreement for Cipriani to deliver “sophisticated, high-value crisis communications services.” Cipriani’s role was aimed at shaping Paramount’s media strategy and securing favorable coverage for the company.
As part of the agreement, Shell promised to produce a local adaptation of the Spanish musical reality show “Serenata De Las Estrellas,” appointing Cipriani and his wife as co-executive producers. However, this project never came to fruition, and Cipriani alleges he was not paid for his extensive efforts during this period.
The contract was reportedly oral, and Shell ultimately reneged on the arrangement. The complaint highlights the situation as a classic case of fraud, stating that a powerful individual exploited Cipriani’s contributions, deceived him about payment, and refused any compensation.
The suit names Jeff Shell and his wife, Laura, as defendants but does not include Paramount as a party.
Cipriani’s Previous Legal Battles with Resorts World
Within the gaming community, Cipriani is recognized as a prominent figure often opposing Resorts World Las Vegas. Previously, alongside businessman James Russel, he filed a lawsuit accusing former Resorts World executives, including former president Scott Sibella and ex-vendor David Chesnoff, of engaging in racketeering activities such as illegal bookmaking, money laundering, and witness tampering.
The RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) lawsuit further alleges that Resorts World retaliated against Cipriani for his whistleblowing efforts.
