Introduction

Second chances are important, but for Willie Greenwood, they seem to hold little weight. Greenwood was previously arrested at Bally’s temporary casino located in Medinah Temple, where he targeted unsuspecting visitors. He exploited the shuttle bus service connecting the casino to Chinatown to carry out his crimes.

Details of Greenwood’s Crimes

After his initial arrest and release, Greenwood quickly returned to criminal behavior, once again victimizing casino patrons. His first known offenses date back to March, when he was apprehended in a vehicle following a police alert matching his description.

During that incident, Greenwood was arrested for robbing a 65-year-old individual at gunpoint. He was released in April and was scheduled for trial as he awaited sentencing.

New Violations and Legal Consequences

Despite his pending trial, Greenwood allegedly assaulted a 40-year-old man in a casino parking garage. During this attack, he stole $2,500 in cash along with credit cards from the victim.

Judge James Murphy III emphasized that Greenwood’s repeated offenses necessitated that he remain in custody until his trial. The fresh charges add to his original acts of violence, increasing the severity of his legal situation.
