Rank Group Reports Solid Q1 Performance Amid Challenges

Rank Group Announces Robust Revenue Growth in Q1
Rank Group has released its financial results for the first quarter ending September 30, 2025, showcasing strong growth across multiple areas despite some obstacles.
Significant Gains in Revenue Streams
The group reported a net gaming revenue (NGR) of GBP 210 million ($281.4 million), reflecting a 9% increase compared to the same period last year.
Breaking down the figures, the digital segment saw impressive growth with its NGR climbing 13% year-over-year to GBP 61.6 million ($82.5 million).
Meanwhile, Rank’s Grosvenor venues continued to perform well, generating GBP 102.7 million ($137.6 million), an 8% rise from the prior year. The Mecca venues also experienced growth, with NGR increasing 5% to GBP 35.5 million ($47.6 million). Similarly, the Enracha venues reported a 5% increase, reaching GBP 10.4 million ($13.9 million).
Within the UK market, Grosvenor venues enjoyed a notable 31% surge in revenue. The digital business and Mecca venues also expanded locally by 15% and 9%, respectively.
However, Rank Group’s Spanish operations faced a slight downturn, with revenue falling 1% due to previously noted platform capacity challenges, which are currently being addressed.
Overcoming Challenges and Looking Forward
CEO John O9Reilly characterized the Q1 results as a promising start to fiscal year 2025/26, emphasizing confidence in ongoing growth despite increased costs linked to the UK’s national living wage and a new statutory levy.
The company is actively expanding its Grosvenor venues by installing new gaming machines, aiming to add a total of 850 machines by mid-2026.
Rank Group is closely monitoring discussions about a potential tax increase in the UK government budget, actively engaging with Treasury representatives regarding the implications for business viability, employment, investment, and customers.
“Speculation about tax changes in the upcoming Budget is naturally a concern for us. We are in discussions with the Treasury about the impact on our venues, jobs, future investments, and customers. Last year, the Group generated GBP 44.6 million in profit after tax, while paying GBP 188 million in taxes to HMRC and local authorities. With its strong UK focus, Rank Group is certainly fulfilling its tax obligations,” said John O9Reilly, CEO.
Looking ahead, Rank Group announced it will hold a Capital Markets Event centered on Grosvenor operations on October 22 at the Victoria Casino.
