Poker Palace Casino to Close After Over Five Decades of Operation

End of an Era for Poker Palace Casino
The Poker Palace Casino, a beloved fixture in Nevada’s gambling scene, is set to close its doors on October 1, 2025. Having originally opened in 1974, this historic casino has been serving visitors and locals alike for more than 50 years.
A Historic Landmark in North Las Vegas
Despite its relatively small size compared to other casinos in North Las Vegas, Poker Palace has maintained its presence by leveraging its deep-rooted history, genuine atmosphere, and unique character. Situated close to Nellis Air Force Base at 2757 N. Las Vegas, the property dates back well before its days as Poker Palace. Initially, it was known as Bunny’s Bar, a building that was constructed in 1951.
Closure and Impact on Staff
The decision to shutter the casino reflects changing economic conditions that have made it increasingly difficult for the venue to continue operating under its current business model. Currently, 126 employees work at the casino, and all will be affected by the closure. This includes personnel such as 10 poker dealers, 10 security officers, and 10 porters. Additionally, the casino’s gaming floor, covering an area of 25,900 square meters, will also be closing down.
