Penn & Teller Renew Las Vegas Residency Until 2029

Long-Standing Partnership with Rio Hotel and Casino
Renowned magic and comedy duo Penn & Teller have officially extended their residency at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas through December 2029. This announcement signifies a continuation of an iconic entertainment run that has become a staple in the Las Vegas show scene.
Historic Milestone in Entertainment
The extension was publicly shared during a broadcast of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on June 8, marking an important chapter in their ongoing legacy. Penn Jillette and Teller first began their Las Vegas journey with a show at the Rio back in 2001, establishing themselves as one of the city’s premier attractions over the past two decades.
Before settling at the Rio, the duo performed at Bally’s for six years and then spent two seasons at MGM Grand. Their continuous presence at the Rio has since made them the longest-running headliners at a single hotel in Las Vegas.
Remarkable Career and Achievements
As they conclude celebrations of their 50th anniversary as a duo, Penn & Teller reflect on their extensive career, which includes more than 12,000 performances. Their unique blend of illusion, humor, and skepticism has won them widespread acclaim since their partnership began in 1975.
Jillette once remarked that the number of shows they’ve performed exceeds the combined live performances of legendary bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, underscoring their impressive career longevity.
Additionally, their popular television program “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” which challenges magicians to outwit the duo, is set to return for its 11th season with production resuming in October.
Ongoing Projects and Future Plans
While continuing their joint performances, both Penn and Teller also pursue individual projects. Jillette is preparing for a tour in the United Kingdom alongside fellow performer Piff the Magic Dragon. Meanwhile, Teller is involved in the development of a new performing arts and media center in downtown Las Vegas.
Despite these various endeavors, their primary focus remains on the show that brought them fame and acclaim.
According to Jillette, their dedication to the show is unwavering, stating that the production has always been their central goal and source of happiness.
With their residency now secured through 2029, fans can look forward to many more years filled with the duo’s signature magic, comedy, and captivating performances.
