Pakistani YouTuber Ducky Bhai Detained Over Alleged Promotion of Fraudulent Gambling Platforms

Saad Ur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, a well-known Pakistani YouTuber, has been implicated by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for reportedly promoting deceptive gambling advertisements and platforms.
Legal Charges and Detainment
Rehman faces multiple accusations, including charges related to electronic fraud and forgery under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, along with allegations of cheating and illicit trade promotion activities under the Pakistan Penal Code. He was held in NCCIA custody until early September, with his detention extended to allow the agency time to conclude its investigation.
Following this, his legal team submitted a bail application, arguing no official evidence has been presented against him and emphasizing that the platforms promoted are not explicitly illegal. The lawyers noted that Rehman has no prior criminal record and that the charges filed are eligible for bail. The court scheduled a hearing for September 12 to review the bail request.
Accusations of Promoting Fraudulent Gambling
Authorities allege that Rehman used his social media presence to advertise numerous betting apps, including names like Binomo, 1xBet, bet365, and B9 Game. Although these platforms lack Pakistani licensing, they are not deemed illegal under current regulations. However, many promotional links associated with these sites are now inactive.
The platforms allegedly amassed substantial profits while failing to pay out promised returns to users, an act deemed fraudulent by investigators. Upon his arrest at Allama Iqbal International Airport, where he was attempting to leave the country, evidence surfaced indicating that Rehman not only endorsed these apps but may have also served as a country manager for one of them, operating without proper government authorization from agencies such as the Federal Board of Revenue or the State Bank of Pakistan.
Further incriminating evidence was discovered on his phone, including communications related to the promotion of Binomo, records of questionable financial transactions, and misleading promotional videos.
