Michigan Gaming Control Board Targets Illegal Gambling Operators

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has recently sent formal notices to 19 gambling platforms operating without proper state licenses. These actions are part of MGCB’s continued mission to protect Michigan’s gaming market from unauthorized and offshore websites.

Illegal Gambling Sites Identified by MGCB

The MGCB determined that the websites are violating several key Michigan laws, such as the Lawful Sports Betting Act and the Lawful Internet Gaming Act. The list includes a mix of well-established and newer gambling operators, some of which have been part of the industry for many years. The identified sites are:

Warning and Legal Consequences

The MGCB has given these operators a 14-day deadline to cease all gambling activities targeting Michigan residents. Failure to comply will result in the matter being escalated to the state attorney general for further legal proceedings. Henry Williams, MGCB’s executive director, emphasized the risks posed by unauthorized gaming platforms: “Illegal gambling operators put our citizens at risk and jeopardize the integrity of our regulated gaming industry. Without proper licensing, players lose important protections, which we cannot allow. Our actions are decisive to prevent such violations.”
