MGM Celebrates Milestone in Responsible Gambling with Over 2,000 Trained Specialists

Extensive Training and Expansion of Responsible Gambling Specialists
MGM Resorts International has announced a significant advancement in its responsible gambling initiatives, highlighting that more than 2,000 employees have been trained as responsible gambling specialists. These trained staff members span across 30 different departments within the company, including frontline staff and top executives. Their role is to provide support to individuals facing gambling difficulties and contribute valuable feedback to enhance MGM’s protective measures for its guests.
GameSense Program: Core to MGM’s Responsible Gambling Strategy
The GameSense program stands at the heart of MGM’s commitment to fostering responsible gambling. This initiative equips employees with the skills needed to recognize and intervene when gambling harm is detected. MGM’s Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, Stephen Martino, emphasized the company’s dedication by stating that integrating responsibility into the brand’s culture is essential. The program empowers employees to promote awareness and ensure enjoyable gaming experiences for visitors.
Developed in collaboration with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, GameSense represents a leading example of industry efforts to promote safer gambling environments. MGM believes the success of this program depends heavily on awareness and active participation from all levels of its workforce, from gaming floor staff to senior management.
Ongoing Commitment to Responsible Gambling Tools and Culture
Beyond the extensive training provided through GameSense, MGM Resorts has partnered with tools such as BetBlocker, which offers anonymous support to help individuals manage and restrict problematic gambling behaviors. This partnership aligns with MGM’s broader goal of cultivating a culture where every employee interaction is an opportunity to build trust and support responsible gaming habits.
Garrett Farness, MGM Resorts’ Executive Director of Responsible Gaming, reaffirmed the company’s mission by emphasizing their commitment to fostering a responsible and hospitable environment that truly prioritizes guests’ well-being.
