Las Vegas Taxi Driver Charged with Attempted Sexual Assault

Incident Overview
A taxi driver in Las Vegas has been formally charged with serious felony offenses after a tourist accused him of attempted sexual assault during a cab ride. The incident reportedly took place while the woman was a passenger in the driver’s vehicle.
Details of the Allegations
According to court documents, a grand jury in Clark County indicted 44-year-old K.S., a lease driver for Western Cab Company since 2016, on June 4. The charges include attempted sexual assault and open or gross lewdness.
The alleged incident occurred in the early morning hours of November 23, 2025. The victim was taking a taxi ride from the Aria Resort & Casino to her accommodation at Paris Las Vegas.
The woman stated that although she had consumed alcohol earlier that day, she did not believe she was intoxicated when she got into the cab. She fell asleep during the journey.
Surveillance footage from inside the taxi, referenced in an arrest report, shows the driver repeatedly glancing toward the backseat before reaching behind the seat where the woman was lying.
Upon waking, the woman realized the driver was inappropriately touching her. When she confronted him, he claimed he was retrieving her phone charger, but she did not believe this explanation. She responded by grabbing his collar and striking him. When the taxi slowed at a traffic light, she exited the vehicle.
The woman, who was visiting Las Vegas from Texas with family members, reported the incident to the police shortly afterward.
Bail and Court Proceedings
The driver was arrested three days after the incident. During his first court appearance, bail was set at $4,000. The case was later moved to District Court where Chief Judge Jerry Wiese raised bail to $100,000 and imposed strict electronic monitoring measures.
The judge expressed concerns about the defendant possibly fleeing, as he is not a U.S. citizen. However, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have stated that they are not currently involved in the case.
K.S. is scheduled for further court hearings later this month as legal proceedings continue.
It is important to note that these charges are allegations at this stage, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
