The NBA Board of Governors is set to review a proposal that could reshape the league by adding teams in Las Vegas and Seattle. The vote is scheduled for March 24-25, and approval requires at least 23 of 30 team owners to agree. Although there is an option to approve both cities, it is possible that only one may be granted a new franchise.

If the expansion is approved, the selected team or teams are expected to join the league in the 2028-2029 season. This initial approval would open the door for potential bids, with estimated fees reaching as high as $10 billion. A subsequent vote would then confirm the final decision on the expansion.
