Las Vegas Convention Boom Set for 2026 After Renovation

Major Renovation Boosts Las Vegas Convention Center
The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) is undergoing an extensive $600 million renovation, perfectly timed to meet a surge in convention attendance expected in the city. This upgrade aims to provide the world-class experience attendees have come to expect, starting with the January CES event held at the revitalized venue.
Convention Attendance to Soar in 2026
The expanded LVCC will become the second-largest convention center in the United States, prepared to welcome approximately 1.23 million tradeshow visitors next year. This marks a significant increase compared to the estimated 1.06 million attendees in 2025. The renovated center is just one part of Las Vegas’ growing convention infrastructure.
Complementing the LVCC are The Venetian Expo and Mandalay Bay Convention Center, both contributing to the city’s enhanced ability to host large-scale events. Among the notable conventions planned are the CES expo, expected to draw 140,000 attendees, Automotive Aftermarket Week, and the National Association of Broadcasters event.
Many other major tradeshows will also take place, including the Global Gaming Expo, JCK Annual Trade Show, Cisco Live, Def Con, and AHR Expo. Additionally, the Sweets and Snacks Expo and McDonald’s Worldwide event anticipate drawing over 15,000 visitors each.
Expanding Event Variety to Support Tourism During Off-Peak Periods
The LVCC plans to diversify its offerings by hosting more indoor sports tournaments, particularly during traditionally slower periods. This strategy aims to provide excellent facilities at competitive rates, boosting hotel occupancy and benefiting the local economy during those times.
Hotels and resorts are preparing for a turnaround from the slow demand seen in 2025, expecting a strong influx of convention participants seeking accommodation and hospitality services.
Looking ahead, trade shows are poised to be a critical driver of Las Vegas’ economic recovery in 2026. The city is also exploring opportunities to host additional major sporting events, including another Super Bowl and continuing the Las Vegas Grand Prix, both of which have attracted large crowds and are gaining local support.
