Ex-NBA Star Lamar Odom Spotted in Las Vegas Following Recent DUI Incident

Just a week after his DUI arrest, former NBA player Lamar Odom, aged 46, was seen back in Las Vegas. Over the weekend, he was at the C3 Lounge promoting his new beverage, “Odom 7.”
The C3 Lounge is situated on South Decatur Boulevard near West Sahara Avenue. Odom told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he was there to stay positive but declined to discuss his recent legal issues.
The Incident Leading to the Arrest
On January 17, Odom was stopped by law enforcement on a Las Vegas highway for speeding at 106 mph, which is over 40 mph beyond the posted speed limit.
Odom later claimed he had neither consumed alcohol nor drugs at the time of the stop. However, arrest documents reveal that he failed multiple sobriety tests. Officers noted his bloodshot eyes and detected the smell of marijuana inside his car.
Initially, Odom said his passenger was smoking and denied using marijuana himself, but he eventually admitted to having smoked earlier the same day around 4 p.m.
The former two-time NBA champion is facing several charges, primarily misdemeanor DUI, speeding over 41 mph above the limit, and improper lane changing. His court appearance is scheduled for March 17.
Background of Substance Abuse
Lamar Odom has openly struggled with addiction to alcohol and drugs in the past, and this is not his first DUI arrest; he was previously arrested in 2013.
After a serious overdose in 2015, Odom seemed to make efforts to improve his life and has since supported others in recovery by investing in rehab centers.
His battle with addiction, along with personal issues like infidelity, contributed to the breakup of his marriage with Khloe Kardashian, who filed for divorce.
