IGT’s Leading Titles Dispense Multi-Million Dollar Jackpots

IGT, a prominent global gaming company, reported that its flagship slot games, Wheel of Fortune and Megabucks, distributed jackpots totaling over $6 million during September. This exciting milestone occurred as IGT prepared to introduce the Wheel of Fortune game to Illinois’ video lottery terminal market.

Two Major Jackpot Wins Make Millionaires

In the United States, players hit two extraordinary jackpots through IGT’s Wheel of Fortune and Megabucks slot machines, combining to deliver more than $6 million in payouts last month. These huge wins included a nearly $3 million prize and another exceeding $3 million.

One player in New York claimed $2,995,532 on September 25 while playing the Wheel of Fortune Triple Stars slot at the Empire City Casino in Yonkers. The very next day, September 26, another player scored $3,194,568 on Megabucks Mega Vault at Twin Pine Casino & Hotel in Middletown, California. This marks the second significant Megabucks jackpot awarded at this location since an $8.4 million win in 2010.

Megabucks is notable as the world’s first wide area progressive jackpot system, delivering jackpots since 1986. Wheel of Fortune slot games, launched in 1996, have created over 1,200 millionaires to date.

Expansion of Wheel of Fortune into Illinois’ VLT Market

IGT is extending its reach in the U.S. market by launching the Wheel of Fortune slot brand into Illinois’ video lottery terminal sector. This expansion is enabled through a partnership with Gold Rush Gaming, a leading name in the VLT industry, facilitating rapid access of the game series to local players in the state.

The new Wheel of Fortune video lottery terminals are featured on IGT’s RISE55 portrait cabinet, equipped with an advanced 55-inch display designed to enhance the game’s visual appeal and player experience.

To celebrate this collaboration, IGT and Gold Rush Gaming held a series of launch events. Tim Shortall, IGT’s regional vice president of sales, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Gold Rush and continuing the Wheel of Fortune legacy throughout Illinois.
