The launch of DK Replay took place recently in Oregon, giving MLB enthusiasts an opportunity to engage with baseball betting in a new and exciting way. The product enables eligible users to place bets pitch-by-pitch on a vast collection of anonymized, past MLB plate appearances, covering several seasons.
This product received approval from the Oregon Lottery and can be accessed via the most recent update of the DraftKings Sportsbook application.
With DK Replay, bettors are presented with pitcher versus batter matchups, where the identities of the players remain anonymous initially. Each player is assigned a rating – bronze, silver, or gold – based on statistical data from the original game to help users evaluate the matchup more strategically.
Users can wager on the outcome of the next pitch, choosing between options like a ball, strike, or if the ball will be put in play. Following the bet, the actual outcome is revealed, and the wager is settled accordingly. After completing the entire plate appearance or if the player opts out due to the pitch timer expiring, the full details, including the athletes’ names and original game context, are disclosed.
A Fresh Approach to Betting for MLB Fans
Currently, DK Replay is exclusively available to bettors located in Oregon. DraftKings, however, has expressed intentions to explore expanding this product to additional states in the future.
