Asian-Themed Renovation Brings Positive Results to Borgata Atlantic City

The Borgata in Atlantic City recently celebrated the success of its revamped gaming area inspired by Asian culture. Initially viewed as a risky move, the investment has proven financially beneficial, driving notable growth.

Strategic Shift Towards Asian Market Boosts Performance

As a major property under MGM Resorts International, both in Atlantic City and across the U.S., Borgata has attracted considerable focus and funding. During the company’s second-quarter earnings report, MGM CEO Bill Hornbuckle praised the revamped gambling section, highlighting its significant contribution to the company’s earnings.

Hornbuckle noted, “Targeted investments in carefully designed customer experiences have led to strong double-digit gaming revenue growth, surpassing market expectations since the area’s relaunch.” This approach aimed to offer guests a distinct and memorable environment.

Enhancing the Experience with Unique Cultural Elements

To deepen the Asian ambiance, the property introduced premium liquors like Yamazaki 18 and Shibui 23, well-known in Asian culture, blending exclusivity with accessibility for everyday visitors. According to the company, every aspect of this transformation was curated to ensure guests feel welcomed and enjoy an immersive and unique experience.

Asian-Inspired Dining Complements the Gaming Area

The Borgata also features an Asian-themed restaurant called Noodles, offering a variety of dishes including BBQ, seafood, dim sum, and vegetable specialties. The restaurant’s decor, inspired by noodles, adds to the overall cultural theme, creating a cohesive dining and gaming atmosphere inspired by Asian traditions.
