Casino Queen Marquette is undergoing a significant transformation with a $21 million investment that will relocate the casino from its riverboat setting to a modern inland facility. Along with this move, the property will be renamed Bally’s Marquette, reflecting its new operator and its city home.

A Fresh Start for the Marquette Casino

The casino in Iowa, soon to be known as Bally’s Marquette, transitioned ownership when Standard General, its previous owner, completed a major acquisition of Bally’s. This brought the casino under Bally’s management. The relocation inland was announced just before this acquisition was finalized.

Construction on the new land-based casino is already underway, and the official rebranding to Bally’s Marquette will coincide with the opening of this facility. Until that time, the riverboat casino will continue operations under its current name.

The new Bally’s Marquette is projected to open in early 2026, marking a new era for the venue.

Evolution of the Casino’s Identity

Over the years, the casino has undergone several name changes. It originally operated as Miss Marquette, then rebranded to Capri Marquette, followed by Lady Luck. In March 2017, the name changed to Casino Queen Marquette after Queen Casino & Entertainment acquired the property.

This latest renaming to Bally’s Marquette symbolizes a major milestone, coinciding with the move to a permanent onshore location. Bally’s is investing $21 million to update the existing dockside areas, which have housed restaurants and a concert venue.

This move from riverboat to land-based gaming was made possible by legislation passed in 2007, allowing casinos to transition from boats to permanent facilities. Many operators have since embraced this shift to enhance their gaming offerings.

Bally’s Leadership Welcomes the Change

Robin Corbeil, the general manager of Casino Queen Marquette, expressed enthusiasm for the relocation and rebranding.

We are proud to honor Casino Queen Marquette’s strong community ties while introducing an exciting new chapter as Bally’s Marquette. This development brings the entertainment experience our guests enjoy onto land, making it more accessible, comfortable, and dynamic than ever before.
