Bally’s Plans Advance for New Entertainment District Near Las Vegas Stadium

Bally’s Expands Entertainment Plans Near Oakland Athletics Stadium
Bally’s Corporation is making significant strides in developing a vibrant entertainment district adjacent to the future Oakland Athletics stadium on the Las Vegas Strip. Local authorities have taken initial steps towards approving land-use permits for this ambitious project, signaling progress as Bally’s prepares to reshape the area surrounding the new ballpark.
Creating a Year-Round Destination
The project is set to receive final approval from the Clark County Commission soon, marking a key milestone in this multi-phase development connected to the $2 billion stadium. Bally’s aims to invest approximately $1.19 billion to build a sprawling mixed-use complex covering several million square feet.
The initial stage focuses on foundational structures to support the stadium and a forthcoming resort. Plans include constructing a hotel tower, casino, entertainment venues, retail areas, dining spots, and a theater. A distinctive three-level plaza will serve as a pedestrian hub near the stadium entrance, packed with various amenities to attract visitors every day of the year—not just during events.
The resort will feature a large hotel tower with about 1,800 rooms, seamlessly connected to the casino and ballpark. The entire complex will be elevated above street level and accessible via escalators, elevators, as well as pedestrian bridges linking to nearby landmarks like Excalibur and MGM Grand.
Stadium Construction Advances on Schedule
Construction on the nine-acre ballpark began last summer, with over $300 million already invested. The stadium’s steel framework is rising, outlining seating areas including the upper decks and luxury suites. The ballpark is designed to accommodate around 33,000 fans and will share infrastructure with the surrounding resort district.
Completion of the stadium is targeted for 2028, aligning with the first phase opening of the casino resort. Phase one will include essential utilities, parking garages, and retail and dining spaces around the stadium. Subsequent phases will add hotel towers and expand amenities.
An Ambitious Addition to Las Vegas’ Sports and Entertainment Landscape
This project represents one of Bally’s most ambitious developments to date and highlights Las Vegas’ growing reputation as a premier sports destination. The city is increasingly blending professional sports teams, entertainment spots, and casino resorts into cohesive entertainment hubs.
Major events like the F1 Grand Prix have already shown the potential benefits of this combined focus on sports and entertainment for the local economy and all stakeholders. Bally’s latest development reinforces Las Vegas’ evolving status as a top destination for sports fans and leisure seekers alike.
