Family’s Stay at Atlantic City Casino Ends with Lost Teddy Bear

A family visiting the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Atlantic City to celebrate New Year’s Eve faced an unexpected heartache after their trip. Upon returning home, Margie Lynn, the mother of 9-year-old Callen, realized that her son’s cherished teddy bear, named Tim, was missing.

Tim has been Callen’s companion since he was a baby, making the loss deeply upsetting for both mother and son. Margie took to social media, reaching out to the Hard Rock Casino for assistance in locating the beloved toy.

Responsive Efforts from the Casino Staff

The heartfelt plea quickly gained attention online, prompting a swift response from Hard Rock Atlantic City. Michael Woodside, the casino’s Vice President of Marketing and Entertainment, expressed empathy for the family’s situation, recognizing the emotional importance of the lost teddy bear.

Determined to find Tim, staff across various departments – including housekeeping, security, and management – launched a thorough search of the entire property. They combed through guest rooms, corridors, elevators, and even areas usually restricted to staff such as laundry rooms, music memorabilia displays, instrument cases, and housekeeping carts.

Ongoing Search and Special Plans Ahead of the Boy’s Birthday

With Callen’s 10th birthday approaching on January 14, the teddy bear has still not been recovered. Despite this, his mother remains hopeful that Tim will be found and returned in time for the special day.

In the event the bear cannot be located, Hard Rock has pledged to present Callen with a special replacement. George Goldhoff, president of Hard Rock Atlantic City, shared that they plan to gift a new bear—described as a cousin of Tim—to ensure the boy still receives a meaningful birthday present.

In addition to the gift, Callen and his family will be treated to a complimentary birthday lunch at the Sugar Factory as part of the casino’s efforts to make his celebration memorable despite the loss.
