Monarchs Knock Comets Off Course

(Sports Network) - Nicole Powell had a game-high 20 points and nine rebounds with four three-pointers to lead the Sacramento Monarchs to a convincing 80-65 win over the Houston Comets.

The Monarchs had four players in double figures, as Kara Lawson dropped 14, Crystal Kelly scored 12 and Scholanda Robinson had 11 points for Sacramento, which snapped a modest two-game slide.

Shannon Johnson and Tina Thompson had 12 points each for the Comets, who were outrebounded 37-29 and committed 21 turnovers in suffering their second straight defeat.
