Stefani Schaefer

Schaefer
In September 2002, Stefani "Sissy" Schaefer joined NewsChannel5 as co-anchor of "Live On Five," along with NewsChannel5's Lee Jordan and Ted Henry.

Prior to joining WEWS, Stefani worked at FOX 8 for more than eight years, co-anchoring and hosting their morning news program.

Along with her busy television career, Stefani enjoys a fulfilling life as a wife and mother. Her two children -- 2-year-old son, Race, and 6-month-old daughter, Siena -- bring Stefani so much joy and definitely keep her on her toes. It is important to Stefani to spend a lot of time with her children and savor every moment of life with them.

Stefani, who grew up in a family that loves the performing arts, got her start in the entertainment world in Alliance, Ohio. At her family's performing arts center, she taught voice and dance. She and her brother, Thommie, who is a recording artist in California, formed a duo to travel the country with the Bob Hope USO Troupe. Stefani and Thommie also opened for Barbara Mandrell, Chubby Checker, The Oakridge Boys, and Alabama. The two also had their own show at the former Geauga Lake Amusement Park and were the youngest to perform.

Stefani attended Mount Union College as an All-American Scholar and graduated after only 3 1/2 years with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and journalism. She was also a National Collegiate Academic Honoree.

Stefani was on the cover of Cleveland Magazine's Most Interesting People of 2000. She continues to perform at Cleveland sporting events by singing the National Anthem.
