Dan Haggerty
Dan began his television career studying Journalism at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.After graduation, he started working behind the camera as a photojournalist and editor at WTOV-9 in Steubenville.In June of 2005, Dan did his first on-camera live report outside of the Raleigh Police Department as a reporter at WNCN in Raleigh, N.C. While in Raleigh, he covered the infamous Duke Rape case, as well as Mohammed Taheri-azar’s self-proclaimed terrorist attack driving an SUV through UNC’s campus in Chapel Hill, hitting nearly a dozen students.Dan moved to Southwest Florida in January of 2007. He spent the next year working for NBC-2 in Fort Myers.Dan says Florida has two seasons -- hurricane season and brush fire season. He provided live reports of dozens of brush fires where flames forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes.In April of 2008, Dan got the call that would fulfill one of his career dreams -- working in Cleveland.He grew up in Wheeling, W.V., and is excited to be just a short drive from family.Dan has always had a passion for writing and loves working in live television.In his off time, you can find Dan exploring Cleveland’s city streets, enjoying its amazing restaurants, or hunting for the next big story.Feel free to shoot him an e-mail at haggerty@newsnet5.com to say hello, or send ideas for local stories you'd like to see covered.
