Terry Brooks

Terry Brooks is the newest member of the NewsChannel5 sports team.

He has had the chance to cover a Final Four (UNC ’05), a Stanley Cup final (Hurricanes ’06), and walk 18 holes with Tiger on the final day of a major (PGA ’05). Now, he said he wants a chance to cover a Super Bowl with the Browns.

Terry graduated from the University of Chattanooga as a double major in Communications and Psychology. He knew in high school that he wanted to pursue a career in sports journalism.

"I was in the 11th grade and was talking to one of my buddies about our future. He said he wanted to be a sportscaster. I had never thought of that as a career, but when I heard it, I knew that’s what I wanted to do," he said.

Upon graduating from UTC Terry accepted his first job in television at WDSI in Chattanooga as a fill-in sportscaster. From there he was off to WLTX in Columbia, SC then to Raleigh, NC at News14 Carolina.

Terry is a native of Memphis, TN. He is newly wed to his wife Nicole.
