UPDATED: 8:03 am EST November 27, 2008

For many people, the holiday season means a lot of cooking.

And sometimes people are preparing meals that they don't ordinarily prepare, so they may need some help.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has set up a cooking help line to answer common questions on how to safely prepare everything from the turkey to the stuffing and then storing the leftovers, NewsChannel5 reported.

Call the hotline at 800-535-4555.

You can also call the 1-800 Butterball for tips on how to prepare your holiday turkey or Reynolds Turkey Tips hotline at 800-745-4000. You can also visit the Butterball web site.
