“If you like your health care plan, you can keep it,” President Barack Obama said repeatedly about the Affordable Care Act.
It sounded good at the time, maybe calmed some nerves, but the experts at PolitiFact.com say it was a promise “impossible to keep.”
That made it the biggest lie of 2013.
In 2012, the website rated Mitt Romney's claim, which he made in Ohio, that President Obama had "sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China," which would cost Americans their jobs, as that year's biggest fib.
And in 2011, claims by Democrats that Republicans voted to end Medicare took the title.
The law that the President has embraced as “Obamacare” was the cause of three other of the year’s whopping fibs.
