A Barberton man, on parole for burglary and armed robbery, is wanted by Norton police on suspicion he committed more crimes against a 90-year-old woman and her disabled daughter.
To catch 43-year-old Robin E. Edgington, Summit County Crimestoppers is offering a $2000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.
Police said Edgington broke into a house on the night before Thanksgiving, as the residents slept inside, and took off with their purses.
The elderly victim’s credit card was used at an ATM in Akron to get money from her account. The card was then used at the Walmart on S. Arlington Road.
Edgington has brown hair and brown eyes. His last known address is 371 Newell St., Apt #2 in Barberton.
Police are also trying to identify a young man with Edgington as they exited Walmart in the attached photo.
The victim's son-in-law, David Hodgson, is disgusted by the crime. He said the elderly victim has congestive heart failure and she's on oxygen. His sister-in-law has the mental capacity of a 5-year-old, he explained.
"Taking advantage of a 90-year-old woman, who is in extremely poor health, and a 58-year-old mentally challenged woman is despicable," Hodgson said.
People with information leading to Edgington are urged to call (330) 434-2677 (COPS) or text TIPSCO with your tip to 274637. Crimestoppers also takes anonymous tips.
