$24,000 in ecstasy seized in Ohio Turnpike traffic stop

ERIE COUNTY, Ohio - Troopers in Erie County seized over $24,000 in ecstasy pills Sunday after a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike.

Ohio State Highway Troopers said they stopped the driver of an SUV for a speed violation, when troopers detected an odor of burnt marijuana and observed a bag of yellow pills in plain view. The traffic stop happened just before 1 p.m.  on the Ohio Turnpike, near milepost 117.

Troopers said the sight of the pills led to a probable cause search that revealed 1,496 ecstasy pills, six grams of marijuana and $3,210 in cash.

The driver, Victor Hunt, 37, of Cleveland, and passenger, Brittany Dickerson, 24, of Bedford, were arrested and booked into the Erie County Jail.
