CLEVELAND - Just what can cold air do to hot water?
To do this experiment, here's what you need:
1) Cup of near boiling water
2) Temperatures below 10º
That's it! All you do is CAREFULLY take the hot water outside and heave it into the cold air. Nature does the rest!
What you see is actually called evaporation. This happens all the time no matter what the temperature is. What makes it so evident though is the drastic difference in water and air temperature. The bigger the difference, the faster the steam forms.
Try it yourself and post your results on my Facebook wall !
