The latest numbers are out on El Nino 2015. And the numbers are impressive!
This current El Nino (warming of the Equatorial Waters of the Pacific Ocean) is the second strongest at this time of year since 1950, according to NOAA.

Second only to 1997-98.
And overall, only two El Ninos have been stronger: 1997-98 and 1982-83
The 1982-83 El Nino peaked in strength in late winter 1983. Both of these El Ninos are considered "Super Ninos."
So, here's what the temperatures looked like during December.
Notice the temperatures over all of Ohio. They averaged about 4 degrees ABOVE normal for the month.
Of course, there are other factors that will play into our FINAL Winter forecast coming up in the following weeks.

The current El Nino could suddenly weaken, for instance. Although, that is not forecasted to happen.
