The Ohio Department of Transportation has pretreated roads in northeast Ohio ahead of tonight's expected lake effect snow, ODOT reported Sunday.

"What we’re trying to do this season is be very thoughtful about how we program our trucks and get them out on the roads," said Jocelynn Clemings of ODOT. "You will see a lot of these trucks head to the East side where you’ll see a bulk of this snow start to fall."
Clemings said they are fully staffed with 80-plus plow and salt trucks on the highways. Drivers have been working 12-hour shifts since Thursday to prepare for the storm.
Drivers are reminded to drive slowly and cautiously.
