Mark Johnson's July forecast: More rain and mild weather

CLEVELAND - Many of you have been asking me when summer will begin? I know what you mean. Where's the summer WEATHER. It should FEEL like summer. June certainly didn't. Temperatures were a bit below normal and rainfall was way above normal for the month.

Well, the July forecasts are coming in now. And, unfortunately, it looks like July will pick up where June left off. That means a period of near normal temperatures and scattered rain showers through the first 10 days. Then, a week or so of cooler than normal temperatures thru July 20. Forecasts are hinting at some warmer weather arriving for the last week of the month, which should allow you some days at the beach.

July 1-10 = Near Normal Temperatures. Near to above normal rainfall.

July 11-20 = Below Normal Temperatures. Near to above normal rainfall.

July 21-31 = Near to Above Normal Temperatures. Below normal rainfall.

Temperatures should average near to below normal for the month, with rainfall averaging near to above normal.

The bottom line: Don't expect a major heat wave during the month of July.
