July 2016 was HOT. But how does it compared to recent July's?

We had 10 days at or above 90 degrees during July 2016. Temperatures finished the month at 3.3 degrees above the 30 year average for Cleveland.

But this past month was not nearly as hot July 2012. That also saw 10 days at or above 90 degrees. But temperatures for the month were a sizzling  4.5 degrees above average. This included two days that hit 98 degrees at Hopkins Airport. July 7 and July 17 both came close to the century mark that year!

July of 2013, finished with temperatures just a tab above normal. The month registered 4 days at 90 degrees or higher.

July of 2014 was a COOL month. There were no 90 degree days that month. The warmest temperature was 88 degrees on July 1 and July 22. Temperatures for the month finished 4.2 degrees BELOW average.

July of 2015 was cool as well. Temperatures averaged 2.1 degrees below normal for the month. And, there was only one 90 degree day for the month. Temperatures at Hopkins Airport hit 93 degrees on July 29.
